Stacks Price Drops Nearly 9% as Crypto Selloff Hits Recent STX Rally
STX slipped back toward the mid-$0.30s as a market-wide pullback took a bite out of its Bitcoin Staking–driven gains.

The Stacks price took a sharp hit over the past day as a pullback across digital assets wiped out part of the token’s recent advance.
STX dropped roughly 8% to 9% in 24 hours, sliding back toward the mid-$0.30s after changing hands near $0.40 only recently.
Based on what is known so far, the move reflects a general retreat from crypto risk rather than any fresh setback for the Stacks network itself.
Broader Crypto Weakness Hits STX
Another leg lower in Bitcoin prompted traders across the market to cut exposure.
As BTC fell, leveraged long positions were closed out — the same dynamic behind this week’s Bitcoin liquidation wave. High bond yields, firmer oil prices and a softer appetite for risk added to the pressure.
Altcoins tend to swing harder in conditions like these, especially those that had climbed quickly beforehand.
STX was one of them.
STX Was Coming Off a Strong Rally
The pullback arrives after a strong stretch for the token.
Over recent months, STX climbed as interest grew in Bitcoin Staking, sBTC and the project’s push to become a leading smart-contract layer built around Bitcoin.
Sentiment also got a lift when co-founder Muneeb Ali returned to lead Stacks Labs as CEO.
That run carried STX up toward a resistance area near $0.45 to $0.47 that traders had been watching.
With those gains still fresh, some holders had profits to lock in once the broader market turned lower.
$0.35 to $0.37 Becomes an Important Zone
The decline has pulled STX back toward $0.35 to $0.37.
Technical traders had already flagged that range as a key support area.
Staying above it may help the token settle after the selloff. A clear move below it would weaken the short-term chart picture. Neither outcome is assured.
On the upside, resistance still sits around the mid-$0.40s.
No Clear Stacks-Specific Crisis
Nothing so far suggests that a major new problem at Stacks caused the drop.
Recent project news has centered on Bitcoin Staking, institutional involvement, ecosystem growth and governance — not an exploit, an exchange delisting or an emergency protocol fix.
The scale of the decline also lines up with the steeper losses seen in other higher-volatility altcoins during the same pullback.
What STX Traders Are Watching
Stacks remains tied both to overall Bitcoin conditions and to its own Bitcoin-focused growth story.
Should BTC steady and selling across altcoins ease, STX may find firmer footing too.
For now, the drop looks more like a pullback after a period of outperformance than a sign of deeper trouble at the project.
